GLOBAFA Conference 2026 - Madrid
May 29-30, 2026
Hosted by
Complutense University of Madrid, Spain
The Global Banking and Finance Association (GLOBAFA) Conference 2026 was successfully held on May 29–30, 2026. The conference was jointly organized with the Eurasia Business and Economics Society (EBES) and hosted by Faculty of Economics and Business, Complutense University of Madrid in Madrid, Spain. It was conducted in a hybrid format, featuring both in-person sessions at Complutense University of Madrid and online participation.
We were delighted to receive a large number of submissions from all around the globe. While we regret that we were unable to accommodate all submissions, the final program included 99 papers presented by participants from 34 countries. The program featured paper presentations, a keynote session, a discussion on academic publishing, and a paper development workshop.
For the first time, GLOBAFA also presented a Best Paper Award at the conference. We are pleased to announce that the Best Paper Award was given to Jeremias Huber, IFC/World Bank, U.S.A for the paper titled “Venture Capital Risk: Trading off Breakthrough Innovation and Fundraising Frictions.” The runner-up was Ketian Guan, Brandeis University, U.S.A. for the paper titled “Nonlinear Ex-Dividend Pricing: Disentangling Taxes and Frictions.”
We, GLOBAFA, extend our sincere thanks to all participants, invited speakers, and editors for their contribution to the conference.
