Submission Guidelines
The submission for the GLOBAFA Conference is now open. The deadline to submit an extended abstract or a complete paper is May 1, 2025. All submissions (papers and abstracts) are evaluated using a double blind reviewing process. The decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of each extended abstract/paper will be communicated to the corresponding author within two weeks of submission, with the first responses sent by March 15, 2025. If the paper is accepted for presentation at the conference, the participant is expected to serve as a discussant or session chair in one of the sessions.
GLOBAFA Conference offers three distinct participation options (in-person and online): standard session presentation, short article presentation, and paper development workshop.
- Standard Sessions: The participants can present their complete and/or incomplete full-length articles. The paper presentations will offer the scholars and professionals the opportunity to exchange cutting-edge research and insights. The standard paper presentations are 15-minute presentations followed by a discussion led by an assigned discussant for 10 minutes. Full-paper submission is optional, whereas an extended abstract of the paper with at least 400 words is required to be considered for the submission. All abstracts should be submitted in Microsoft Word or PDF format and English, including the title, authors’ names, affiliation, and contact information of the authors. Abstracts should include Objectives, Data and Methods, Results, and Conclusions. JEL classification and up to 6 keywords should be used.
- Letter/Short Article Presentations: The aim of the short article presentations is to offer researchers a platform to share their novel work prepared for publication in letter format. Different from standard sessions, complete short papers of around 3,000 words are considered for the submission. Each presenter is expected to present their research in short presentations for up to 7 minutes followed by a brief Q&A. The short article presentations are expected to communicate novel findings and contributions in the field of banking and finance with brief introduction, data and methodology, results, and discussion.
- Paper Development Workshop: The aim of the paper development workshop is to promote excellent research in the area of banking and finance, specifically tailored for advanced doctoral students and early-stage scholars within three years of completing their degrees. The workshop offers early career scholars the opportunity to present their research and to discuss its research design and methodology with leading journal editors. Only a limited number of researchers will be selected for the paper development workshop on a first come first served basis. The papers should be either single-authored or co-authored with doctoral student(s) or early-stage scholar(s). Participants should provide documentation from their university or institute indicating the start date and (expected) end date of their doctoral degree. Each participant is limited to submitting one paper in the paper development workshop. The participants should register according to their choice of participation mode (online or in-person). Participation of doctoral students is highly encouraged and will be given priority. If a submitted work for the paper development workshop is not accepted, the paper can be presented at regular sessions.
Interested in organizing a session? If you would like to propose an organized session, please get in touch with Prof. Ender Demir by email ([email protected]), including its subject and format, along with a list of presenters interested in attending the session.
